Cylin Busby was a nine year old girl obsessed with Izod clothing, the Muppets,
and a box turtle she kept in a shoebox. Then one day her whole world flipped upside down. Her father, a respected police officer, was shot multiple times in the jaw. Half of his face was destroyed. Thankfully he survived but at what cost. Eating, breathing, talking, almost any action using his facial muscles was taking from him by one gunshot. As for Cylin and her family things would never be the same. Her happy-go-lucky life was transformed into a living nightmare. She became a bird trapped in cage of fear. Day and night she and her family were watched. By policemen of course but what if someone else was watching them, something else?
This is a true story of a corrupt police department, crime families, and the result one action can have on the rest of you and your loved ones lives. With each chapter being from either Cylin's or John's (her father's) point of view you get a really wide spread perspective of the whole situation. This book has a good hook and message for the reader.
I rate this book 5/5 stars
