Talon By: Julie Kagawa

For thousands of years the dragon society Talon has been evading their foes in the Order of St. George and gradually fulfilling their plots of world domination. Little does anyone know, there are dark secrets about Talon, secrets the society would kill in order to keep hidden.

Ember Hill and her twin brother Dante are the only known siblings in all of dragon kind. Almost finished with her training, Ember and her brother are sent away to complete their assimilation and take their rightful places as Talon members. While Dante is more concerned with becoming a full Talon agent, Ember wants to enjoy her last bit of freedom before becoming tied to Talon forever. Soon she befriends a human boy named Garret, he makes her feel in a way she didn't think dragons were capable of. But when Ember starts uncovering dangerous secrets, she may have to choose to leave everything she ever knew behind.

Sergeant Garret Xavier Sebastian, the perfect soldier, has been a member of the Order of St. George almost as long as he can remember. Having killed more dragons than most soldiers at the age of 16, Garret thinks it will be a simple task when he and his partner are sent to find and eliminate a sleeper cell sent by Talon. Then Garret meets Ember. How could this sarcastic, smart, funny girl that taught him how to surf possibly be the ruthless creature of his nightmares. Better yet; how could he possibly kill her?

The main thing I liked about this book was the aspect. I had often imagined dragons that could take on a human form and thought this book was made for me when I first heard about it!

The main thing I didn't like about this book was how it kept you in the dark about a lot of the details. Though this was annoying, it kept me reading more.

Overall I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
